On the last day of the spring term, pupils and staff celebrated their achievements during an unusual term which started with remote learning from home and ended with the full return to school. The morning began with a ‘St Joseph’s Does Taskmaster’ Live Challenge, set by Mr W of the PE Department. He described a set of characteristics of a cat which he had drawn in advance and asked pupils and staff to copy this as closely as possible following his clues. If you missed any of the Taskmaster challenges this term, you can watch them all here. 

Next up was our Walk for Water around the College in year group bubbles, led by our CAFOD Young Leaders. We have so far raised over £1,300 in aid of Cafod to provide water and equipment for those most in need. Some of our Prep pupils fashioned the fantastic Easter bonnets that they had made. 

In our Easter Celebration, Sixth Formers gave readings and pupils reenacted The Last Supper and performed musical pieces. This was followed by our Easter Assembly. In his introduction, Mr Colpus announced the Head Students (Annabelle Ali and Joseph Tomblin), Deputy Head Students (Asha Rajoriya and Aidan Flood) and other Prefects for the 2021-2022 academic year. He thanked staff and pupils for their hard work during a challenging period and hoped to return to a greater normality during the course of next term. 

To conclude the Easter Assembly, departments recorded compilations of the many activities they had undertaken during this busy term, from the delicious recipes cooked to perfection across Modern Languages and Food Tech lessons, to a wide variety of STEM activities, F1 in Schools, virtual theatre trips, Film Club, radio plays, virtual Scholars’ Talks, Music, Drama and LAMDA showcases and last, but by no means least, the House Challenges results. We look forward to more excitements in the summer term, including World Shakespeare’s Day and the F1 in School Regional Finals!
