We would like to congratulate our Young Enterprise team Cards Regards for winning the Regional Final Creativity Award on 19 May. We are proud of them for their incredible achievements, their resilience to challenges and professionalism throughout.
On their journey to success, Cards Regards, won the Reading and Wokingham Competition of the Year (COTY) 2021 and were awarded the Sustainability Award. Our Year 12 student entrepreneurs create, design and personalise greeting cards using seed paper that when planted grow into wild flowers; their mission is to reduce the waste of greeting cards in the UK. Despite the challenging conditions due to the pandemic, it has been an inspiring learning experience for the students with many months of hard work, teamwork, impressive creativity and resilience. Huge congratulations to all members of ‘Cards Regards’, and to the other St Joseph’s Young Enterprise Team, ‘FaceMade’ for working so hard on their product as well. Massive thanks to Ms. Fiorentino, Young Enterprise Centre Lead, who has been guiding the teams.
Daniela Fiorentino, the Centre Lead for Young Enterprise commented:
“I am so proud of Cards Regards for winning the Reading and Wokingham area competition, especially as they also won the Sustainability Award. The students on both our Young Enterprise teams have worked very hard from the beginning of the academic year, developing their businesses and launching their fantastic products. Cards Regards particularly impressed the judges with their well-executed product that can be personalised for any occasion. Their cards are sustainable and popular, which was highlighted by the rocketing sales they experienced throughout! All students showed full commitment to the programme, teamwork, impressive creativity and resilience; all transferable skills that will allow them to be successful in their future careers. As a result of all their hard work, Cards Regards are number five on the Young Enterprise National Leaderboard.”
